- Stability at the back:
One of the biggest concerns for Liverpool last season was the leakage of goals. As good as Liverpool were going forward, they lacked the stability and confidence at the back to secure the three points. Post Virgil Van Djik’s arrival last January, Klopp’s Liverpool have looked better at the back and with some of the missing players last season returning this season, it only gets better for the Merseyside. Also, the signing of Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker from Roma was a big statement by the club. Liverpool spent a world-record fee to get the Brazilian to Anfield to make sure lesser goals are conceded. This improved backline will surely bring a lot of positivity to the Merseyside club and it could be a big factor in Liverpool’s ambition of winning the Premier league this season.
- Improved midfield:
Naby Keita was already signed last season but the deal saw him join the Reds only this season. Keita on his day is a very dangerous player in the midfield. He can create things from the midfield and brings a lot of energy with his box-to-box game play. Also, the addition of Fabinho from Monaco offers a great option for Jurgen Klopp to try different things in the midfield. With Jordan Henderson, Wjinaldum and James Milner already present to play in the midfield, Klopp has more than enough ammunition to play around this season. With the options available, it shouldn’t be much of a problem for Klopp to rotate as the fixtures and schedule gets tricky with the Champions League and other domestic tournaments come into play. This improved midfield surely makes a great case for Liverpool to go on and successfully challenge for the title.
- Fruitful summer transfer window:
While other clubs have struggled to make the best out of the transfer window this summer, it is safe to say that Liverpool have had an excellent summer in the transfer market. Signing Alisson Becker was utmost necessary to stop the uncalled leakage of goals. The signing of Fabinho brings in a lot of class and stability in the midfield and the Brazilian can also play as a right back to offer Klopp with more options. Xherdan Shaqiri’s arrival brings in a great option in the attack and overall the transfer window has only helped Liverpool secure more options and stability in their squad. The Liverpool squad for the season looks great on paper and is very capable of winning the title this season.
- Constant attacking game style:
Liverpool’s biggest asset has been their attack under Jurgen Klopp. They have managed to beat some of the best with their attack and it is that attacking mentality that can again help them do wonders on the pitch, only this time help them win a trophy. Last season Klopp and his men came very close to win the Champions League and this season we can expect the German to pose a better challenge for the title in the Premier League. With the devastating attacking capabilities Liverpool possess, they can beat any team on their day and they have to be seriously consider as one of the favourites to win the title.
