Players who can replace Philippe Coutinho at Liverpool

     Emil Forsberg

It is very evident that Liverpool are behind RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita, but a move seems difficult to materialise. If Coutinho is to depart and join Barcelona, Liverpool should definitely turn their eyes on Keita’s current teammate Emil Forsberg. Forsberg has already been named Swedish midfielder of the year both in 2014 and 2016 and has been superb for the German club. Last season, Emil scored 8 goals and assisted 19 others in just 30 appearances. He definitely can fit well in the Liverpool team, and Klopp should consider going after him.

     Riyad Mahrez

The Algerian didn’t have as good a season as he did when Leicester won the Premier League, but he still remains one of the most effective wingers in the Premier League. He is versatile enough to play both on the wings and centrally and most importantly has the experience to play in England. Also, Liverpool wouldn’t be harmed if they get a left footed midfielder and should go after Mahrez given that there isn’t much competition in signing the Algerian right now.

     Christian Pulisic

Without an iota of doubt, one can definitely say that Christian Pulisic is one of the brightest talents in the football world right now. The Borussia Dortmund midfielder is capable playing both as an attacking midfielder and also as a winger. Technically Pulisic looks very sound and has excellent dribbling abilities and given Klopp’s connection with Dortmund; it can be a little easier to sign the player compared to the other players mentioned in this list.

     Mario Gotze

Another Borussia Dortmund player in this list is Mario Gotze. The German has somehow lost his magical touch but still remains a quality player. Gotze knows he has to perform well to get into the German squad for the World Cup and what better way to get attention than by joining the Premier League. Klopp’s relation with Gotze can prove to be vital if Liverpool do opt to go after Gotze.

Isco is surely one of Madrid’s important players, and it will take some classic negotiating and persuading abilities to sign the Spaniard from the Los Blancos. Isco has almost everything to become one of the finest midfielders and Liverpool should do everything in their power to sign him. Isco can ease past players with his dribbling abilities and can prove to be a game changer time and again, something that Coutinho did effortlessly for Liverpool. He is the perfect replacement to replace Coutinho at Anfield.
