It might finally come home

Very few were optimistic when the chants of “Its coming home” got into the groove as England was considered a mere dark horse and not contenders for the trophy. Fast forward it a month, and now many have joined the movement as England booked a semi final clash with Croatia in the grandest stage of all. They were clinical against Sweden in the quarter and they looked astute defensively with Maguire and Stones turning on game changing performances. Lingaard has been a live wire throughout this World Cup, and Dele Alli’s much needed goal will surely give him the needed boost.

Young and Trippier are the best performance of their lives, but the form of Raheem Sterling may be an issue for Southgate. Harry Kane leads the race for Golden Boot trophy and the Spurs striker is leading his side with utmost vigilance. The tie against Croatia will give England an edge considering their ability to cope with high press. However, the threat of Modric and Rakitic looms.

Gigi Buffon moves to Paris

After years of undeterred service to Juventus, Buffon is well on course for the newest and perhaps his last challenge ever as a football player. He was swooped in by PSG for free after his services to Juventus. Buffon’s move has baffled many as they thought the 40-year old have had enough and would bid farewell to his illustrious career by signing off from Juventus. PSG goalies Areola and Trapp will look to gather as much advise as they can from the monumental figure. PSG will also look to enhance their champions league title dream to a next level with Buffon’s experience, albeit this is the only trophy that has eluded the Italian great.

Ronaldo leaves the World in a turmoil

Amidst all the World Cup fever that has been there for a month now, Ronaldo has somewhat hogged a certain percentage of attention towards him despite being knocked out with Portugal in the round of 16. People knew something serious was being cooked between Ronaldo and Juventus as many thought Ronaldo would either return to United or just like the past 3 years toy around with the Madrid stalwarts and eventually stay at the club.

Ronaldo’s move to Juventus is seen as more than any footballing event rather an economic upspring to a much maligned Italian football. Many has tipped this as a game changer for Italian league as Ronaldo not only brings charisma and trophy, but a truckload of individual and team honours. Regarded as a business magnet by many, Ronaldo has appreciated the Old Lady crowd on a number of occasions and especially after his stupendous overhead kick. However, his decision to leave Real without a proper testimonial will only anger the crowd against Perez.
