There is a new kid in town, this kid being the Brazilian winger Gabriel Jesus. Manchester City manager to lure the winger away from Palmeiras for a sum exceeding £27m with all the add-ons.
Jesus has been regarded as one of the best South American players out there right now, a signing that will be sure to delight the City fans. He was voted best newcomer in the Brazilian top flight standings last season. Jesus scored 26 goals in his first 67 team appearances for Palmeiras and finished as top scorer in the Brazialian Serie A league this season. He is definitely a force to be reckoned with and will add a futher dimension to the already improved City squad.
When interviewed by the media regarding his move over to Blighty, Jesus had this to say “We have many great talents in the team and a fantastic manager in Pep Guardiola that I can learn so much from. I’m looking forward to showing the City fans what I can do and I think we’ll have a great future together.”
Pep Guardiola has spent in the region of £100m rebuilding the City squad with signings such as Ilkay Gundogan, Nolito, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Aaron Mooy. Jesus will also accompnay recent signing Leroy Schalke, the German International that City signed last Tuesday. All the new additions to many teams in the Premier League will make for an interesting season ahead. One thing is certain, Leicester City have an even bigger mountain to climb this time of asking if they have any hopes whatsoever of defending their Premier league title.
