- David Villa (415 goals):
The Spanish striker is still doing well as a footballer and one wonders how long can Villa carry on. Villa is still a very renowned player in Spain, only that now he plays for New York City FC in the MLS. In his senior career, Villa holds the record for being Spain’s highest goal scorer with 59 goals in 98 games. He played a lot of club football in Spain with clubs like Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Real Zaragoza and Valencia. What’s great is that he managed to win at least a single trophy with each of these clubs. The 2008 Euro and the 2010 World Cup winner has in total 415 goals to his name till date.
- Luis Suarez (430 goals):
It was with Ajax that Suarez’s career really got kick started and it went on another level when he joined Liverpool. He was literally unstoppable at times with the type of abilities he possessed in front of the goal. Barcelona came in calling for him impressed by his performances at Liverpool and since then the Uruguayan has been with the Catalan club. Suarez scored 114 goals at Ajax, 82 at Liverpool, 53 with Uruguay and around 151 goals with Barcelona. It is phenomenal and the count will only increase with time.
- Zlatan Ibrahimovic (505 goals):
It is very difficult to keep Zlatan Ibrahimovic out of this list especially when you are talking about goals scored. The Swedish striker has played for a number of clubs in different leagues and has managed to be successful almost everywhere. Currently playing with the LA Galaxy in the MLS, Zlatan has scored 436 goals at club level in total. He has played for some big clubs like AC Milan, Inter Milan, Barcelona, Manchester United, Ajax, Juventus and PSG. With 62 goals scored internationally, Zlatan is Sweden’s highest goal scorer and God knows how many more goals the Swedish superstar will score before he hangs up his boots.
- Lionel Messi (646 goals):
There is no need for any sort of introduction or explanation to the capabilities of Lionel Messi. Only six more players have more goals than what Lionel Messi has right now. Messi has been at Barcelona from a very young age and since then he has scored 554 goals for the senior team. The Argentine has scored 65 goals for his country, being the highest goal scorer. It is safe to say that the Barcelona forward still has a lot more goals in him and it is interesting to see how much more can the Argentine manage to score.
- Cristiano Ronaldo (676 goals):
There is no surprise seeing the Portuguese superstar here. It had to be either him or Messi at the top of this list. Ronaldo has been a big sensation in football for more than a decade now. He only scored five goals for his first club Sporting CP, then went on to score 118 goals for Manchester United and a stunning figure of 450 goals in just 438 games for Real Madrid. It is truly incredible what the Portuguese has achieved in his career. His 85 goals at international level is the second highest ever scored by a player at international level. With his new adventure with Juventus, it is assured that Ronaldo will go on to increase his tally significantly.
