5 players likely to depart from Chelsea this summer:
- Alvaro Morata:
The former Real Madrid forward signed for Chelsea last summer and after having a good start to the season, the Spaniard saw a big dip in form. Morata struggled to be clinical in front of the goal and that did instigate Antonio Conte to bring in Olivier Giroud from Arsenal in the winter transfer window. Since then Morata struggled with game time and with Gonzalo Higuain a possible target for Chelsea, Morata is likely to move away from Stamford Bridge and he may be involved in the exchange deal for Higuain.
Things weren’t well between Willian and Antonio Conte last season and it was quite evident after the Brazilian was not seen in the starting lineup more than often. It was rumored that Willian would have surely left Chelsea had Conte stayed in charge as Chelsea’s manager this upcoming season. But with Maurizio Sarri, there is some hope of him staying but Barcelona are not making it easy for the Blues. The Catalan club have a strong interest in signing Willian and it is likely that they will succeed in doing that.
- Thibaut Courtois:
The Belgium goalkeeper had a very good spell in the 2018 World Cup. After an impressive tournament, the former Atletico Madrid goalkeeper is subject to a transfer to Real Madrid. Madrid have been looking for a new goalkeeper from a long time and with David De Gea not likely to move away from Manchester United, Courtois seems their latest priority. With Courtois’ children already staying in Spain, the Belgian will be more than tempted to join the Los Blancos.
- N’golo Kante:
The former Leicester midfielder was once again superb in the World Cup. He is as consistent as it gets for a football player. His energy and sharpness in the midfield is difficult to live up to and that is what has grabbed Barcelona and PSG’s interest. It is likely that Barcelona will go ahead with signing Adrien Rabiot from PSG which will open a move for Kante to PSG. The French club are desperate to add the Chelsea man to their team and with the power they have in the transfer market, they sure are likely to make it possible.
- Eden Hazard:
After having a fantastic World Cup, Eden Hazard was found stating that he is open to try a new adventure in his club career which has surely opened many doors for him. It is difficult to stay how Sarri will be able to convince the Belgian to stay but with Real Madrid desperate to replace the void left by Cristiano Ronaldo, it only makes Sarri’s job more difficult. Hazard will surely relish the opportunity of joining Madrid at this point in his career as it seems very much likely that he will join the Los Blancos this summer.
