- Gonzalo Higuain:
A move to the Premier league was long pending for the Argentine striker as he was several times linked with Arsenal before. The move finally materialized with Chelsea under manager Maurizio Sarri whom he worked with before at Napoli. Chelsea have had their issues in the striker role ever since Diego Costa left and with Higuain as their target man things can hopefully get better. He has already scored twice and will play an important role in helping Chelsea finish in the top four.
- Christian Pulisic:
Another Chelsea signing in the January transfer window that makes our list is that of Dortmund’s Pulisic. The American midfielder is one of the finest prospects in the football world right now. He is touted to be Eden Hazard’s successor should the Belgium captain opt to leave the Blues next season. Loaned back to Dortmund for the remainder of the season, Pulisic will play a massive role for the Blues next season as the team needs more creativity going forward.
- Alvaro Morata:
The Spaniard was immensely struggling during his time at Chelsea and it was time he moved away to find his form back. Atletico Madrid needed a striker to accompany Antoine Griezmann in the attack as Diego Costa continues to recover from injury and Kalinic struggling in front of the goal. Morata is familiar with the La liga courtesy his time at Real Madrid and will be hoping to back his confidence back with some good amount of goals under his belt.
- Krzysztof Piatek:
The Polish striker was under the radar of some top clubs but he eventually decided to join AC Milan from Genoa. Piatek has already scored 13 goals in 20 matches for Genoa this season and it is safe to say that he will surely bring more goals for Milan this season. His brace against Napoli in the Copa Italia wrote off any doubts there were in the minds of the Milan fans for him. Piatek will be a key to help Milan qualify for the Champions league for the next season.
- Frenkie de Jong:
It has been long due that Barcelona brought in a long term replacement for Sergio Busquets. The Spaniard might retire anytime soon and it was this January that they signed Frenkie de Jong, who is very highly rated worldwide. Frenkie de Jong has a reputation to be an excellent defensive midfielder and can be an impressive makeshift center back too. His passing and dribbling skills only increase his value more in the midfield and he does look like a very good option to replace Busquets.
